The park’s name is being changed to honor Larry L. Maxam, one of Burbank’s most decorated soldiers.

Larry L. Maxam, This Marine had a lot of awards and honors including one of the most venerable, the Medal of Honor. The park Dedication Ceremony will be Saturday, April 17 at 11.am there will be guest speakers and entertainment.

Donor certificates will be awarded at the Plant-A-Tree ceremony which will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Stough Park, 1335 Lockheed View Drive.
Donations will be accepted through the end of March. However, donations must be submitted by March 18 to be listed in the program. For further information, call the City’s Public Information Office at (818) 238-5840.

The council will vote on whether or not to allow declawing of cats in Burbank. Seven other California cities including West Hollywood, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Berkeley and most recently Culver City have already banned declawing within their city limits. We would like to know what you think.
